Manual Lymphatic Drainage
ML is a special technique in which the therapist uses gentle hand pressure to perform a sequence of strokes aimed at releasing lymph and allowing it to move from the interstitial space through capillaries, lymphatic vessels, and nodes into the bloodstream. This method has significant cleansing and healing effects for post-surgical recovery, aids healing, reduces swelling, improves tissue nutrition (trophic effect), detoxifies, and offers both relaxing and cosmetic benefits (cellulite, skin firming). This technique can be complemented and combined with the application of lymphatic taping or lymphastim (machine-assisted lymphatic drainage).
